Supplement EA on Experimental Rabies Vaccine Field Trials
Ohio Ag Connection - 10/15/2018

Wildlife Services (WS), a program within the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, has issued a Decision and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for a supplement to an Environmental Assessment that evaluated potential impacts to the quality of the human environment from the continued implementation of a field trial to determine the safety and immunogenicity of the human adenovirus type 5 -- rabies glycoprotein rabies vaccine. Additionally, the supplement to the EA examined the potential environmental impacts from expanding the geographic zone of the field trial in Ohio and West Virginia.

Based on the analyses contained in the supplement to the EA and the associated Decision/FONSI, WS concluded that implementation of the proposed action alternative would not have a significant impact on the quality of the human environment. A Decision and FONSI was issued on August 09, 2018 selecting to implement the proposed action alternative. We anticipate that a Notice of Availability will be published in the Federal Register. At that time interested parties may obtain a copy of the Decision/FONSI via the Federal eRulemaking Portal at www.regulations.gov/docket?D=APHIS-2018-0033.

If you would like a copy of the Supplement to the EA and/or the Decision/FONSI sent to you by mail, please submit a written request to USDA, APHIS, Wildlife Services, 59 Chennel Drive, Suite 2, Concord, NH 03301 or by facsimile to (603) 229-0502. When submitting a request by mail or fax, please include a mailing address.
