ODA Partners to Send Christmas Trees to Troops Overseas
Ohio Ag Connection - 11/10/2017
Military units stationed overseas will receive more than 100 trees in celebration of the holiday season as a result of the Ohio Department of Agriculture's partnership with the Ohio Christmas Tree Association. The trees, donated by Christmas tree growers in
Ohio, are inspected by department nursery inspectors to certify that they are free from pests and disease.
Operation Evergreen takes place Nov. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the department, 8995 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg.
The Ohio Christmas Tree Association has been delivering trees to troops stationed overseas since 1995. Growers have donated trees while local school children, churches and veteran's groups have been working on decorations so that the trees have everything
needed to celebrate the holidays.
