Ball Sells Hubbard Paint and General Line Plant

Ball Corporation announced the sale of its paint and general line can manufacturing facility in Hubbard, Ohio, to U.S.-based BWAY Corporation.
"In today's competitive landscape, we must maintain our focus on generating positive EVA dollars and continue to maximize value in our core businesses to be successful over the long term," said Jim Peterson, chief operating officer, food and aerosol packaging.
The Hubbard plant employs approximately 70 people and manufactures a variety of tinplate paint and general line cans. Ball acquired the plant in 2006 as part of the company's acquisition of U.S. Can Corporation.
Ball Corporation supplies innovative, sustainable packaging solutions for beverage, food and household products customers, as well as aerospace and other technologies and services primarily for the U.S. government. Ball Corporation and its subsidiaries employ 18,450 people worldwide and 2016 net sales were $9.1 billion.
