Ohio Ag Connection - 06/12/2019

As of June 2, winter wheat was only 32 percent good to excellent condition compared with 77 percent during the same time last year. Wheat was 65 percent headed, behind last year by 18 percentage points.

National winter wheat production is forecast at 1.27 billion bushels, up less than 1 percent from the May 1 forecast and up 8 percent from 2018. As of June 1, the United States yield is forecast at 50.5 bushels per acre, up 0.2 bushel from last month and up 2.6 bushels from last year's average yield of 47.9 bushels per acre.
