Brown Announces $250,000 for Rio Grande Community College
Ohio Ag Connection - 06/13/2018

Tuesday, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded $250,000 in funds to Rio Grande Community College. The funds for this project will go toward purchasing new simulation and training equipment as well as teaching technology for a new Simulation Training Center on the college's main campus in Gallia County.

"Health science is one of the most competitive fields to break into, and this grant funding will provide Rio Grande students with proper facilities, enhancing educational and clinical training opportunities," Brown said. "Ensuring that Ohioans have access to proper educational opportunities is a top priority, and the ARC Grant funding does just that."

The new equipment and technology will enhance the educational clinical training opportunities for roughly 230 students enrolled in multiple health science disciplines each year. In addition to the $250,000 in grant funding, local sources will provide $257,410, bringing total project funding to $507,410.
