Ohio Shines at 2017 All-American Dairy Show Judging Contest

Ohio State University, Pennsylvania FFA, Wisconsin 4-H, and Michigan State Ag Tech each won their respective divisions at the 2017 All-American Invitational Youth Dairy Cattle Judging Contest held at the Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.

Contestants judged 10 classes of cattle, then gave oral reasons on four or five of the classes depending on their division. The top five individuals and teams were recognized in each division for specific breed performance, oral reasons and overall results.

Results of the 2017 contest:

Collegiate Division

1st -- Ohio State

2nd -- University of Minnesota

3rd -- Cornell University

4th -- Cal Poly State University

5th -- Virginia Tech

Top Five Collegiate Individuals:

1st -- Ella Jackson, Ohio State

2nd -- Hannah Van Dyk, Virginia Tech

3rd -- Alexandra Gambonini, Cal Poly

4th -- Keith Koerner, Cornell

5th -- Riley Lewis, Purdue

Junior Collegiate Division

1st -- Michigan State Ag Tech

2nd -- SUNY Cobleskill

3rd -- Modesto Junior College

4th -- Kaskaskia College

5th -- Morrisville State College

Top Five Junior College Individuals:

1st -- Cameron Cook, Michigan State Ag Tech

2nd -- Nikki Sanders, Modesto Junior College

3rd -- Kaylah Gulley, SUNY Cobleskill

4th -- Morgan Luoma, Michigan State Ag Tech

5th -- Hope Mcalvey, Michigan State Ag Tech

4-H Division

1st -- Wisconsin

2nd -- Maryland

3rd -- Missouri

4th -- Ohio

5th -- Florida

1st -- Emma Gwidt, Wis.

2nd -- Lauren Almasy, Ohio

The All-American Dairy Show features 22 shows in six days in addition to the nation's only all-dairy antiques show. Last year's show featured nearly 3,000 animals and 1,500 exhibitors from around the country.
