Comment on Ohio Double-Crested Cormorant Damage Plan
Ohio Ag Connection - 11/24/2020

Wildlife Services (WS), a program within the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA), "Double-Crested Cormorant Damage Management in Ohio." The EA analyzes the potential environmental impacts of alternatives for WS involvement in cormorant damage management.

The proposed action is to implement an integrated approach using a variety of methods to reduce cormorant damage to aquaculture, property, natural resources, and human health.

WS is requesting that the public review and provide their comments on the EA. Interested parties may obtain the EA by clicking https://bit.ly/3pUUwb4 or contacting: USDA APHIS Wildlife Services, 4469 Professional Parkway, Groveport, OH 43125-9229. WS requests that people submit comments on the EA electronically by clicking https://bit.ly/39aiyZF or by sending the comments to the address listed.

To receive full consideration, WS must receive all comments by the close of business on Jan. 15.

All comments received, including the names and addresses of those who comment, will be part of the public record and will be released for public review as required and allowed by law.
