Learn Trade Policy with USGBC

By Jamie Martin

The U.S. Grains and BioProducts Council (USGBC), in partnership with the National Corn Growers Association, Kansas Corn, Nebraska Corn, and Missouri Corn, has opened registration for its upcoming Trade Policy Academy in Mound City, Missouri.

The free event is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at R/Farms Distillery. A lunch and evening reception will be provided for all attendees. Registration closes on December 5.

The Trade Policy Academy aims to educate participants about global agricultural trade policies and their direct impact on local operations. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how trade shapes the agricultural sector and affects producers, exporters, and the broader marketplace.

Speakers will include USGBC Trade Policy Director Andrew Brandt, USGBC Director of Global Ethanol Export Development Alicia Koch, USGBC Director of Industry Relations Ellen S. Zimmerman, and National Corn Growers Association Director of Trade, Transportation, and Animal Agriculture Michael Granché. Leaders from state corn checkoff organizations will also join the discussion.

The event provides an opportunity to connect with industry experts, ask questions, and explore strategies for improving trade competitiveness. Participants will also learn about emerging trends influencing biofuel markets and agricultural exports worldwide.

The full agenda is available online, and questions can be directed to Ellen S. Zimmerman at ezimmerman@grains.org. Interested individuals are encouraged to register soon to secure their spot before the December 5 deadline.

This program reflects USGBC’s ongoing commitment to promoting education, innovation, and collaboration within the U.S. agricultural and trade community.
