US and Italy dairy groups join forces
USAgNet - 10/02/2023

Two heavyweights in the dairy world, the US and Italy, have teamed up. The U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC), National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF), and the Italian Dairy Association (Assolatte) inked an agreement, vowing to work together till 2025.

They’re focusing on exclusive labeling of dairy terms for milk and dairy goods. They’re also rooting for international guidelines that give a shout-out to the global dairy industry's eco-friendly ways.

Jim Mulhern, the big cheese at NMPF, expressed how both countries' love for quality dairy will spark this collaboration. Similarly, Krysta Harden of USDEC chatted about how both countries are dreaming big for the dairy sector. She emphasized the push for policies based on science that encourage green growth for global dairy makers.

Paolo Zanetti, the top hat of Assolatte, shared his excitement about this grand partnership. He’s hopeful this will smooth the road for producing and selling dairy goods.

Heard about the US's ties with Latin America in dairy? Well, this new pact pairs nicely with the agreements USDEC and NMPF signed last year with Argentina and Chile.
