Taste of Franklin County featured a farm-to-table dinner served outdoors on the farm, consisting of foods that were grown or produced right on The Ohio State University campus farm, located within Columbus city limits. Most of the food on the menu traveled less than a mile to get from where it was produced to where it was consumed. The farm tours and dinner took take place on Sunday, Sept. 10.
Participants had an opportunity to tour the 261-acre Waterman Farm on the OSU campus and learn how food is produced and how Ohio State is conducting cutting-edge agricultural research and educational programs to increase the sustainability and security of Ohio’s food system. They were also able to purchase products at the mini farmers market and enjoy the locally sourced dinner.
Taste of Franklin County Thank you to the OSU meat science team for donating and preparing the meat for the dinner as well as Chef David Wolf and students.
