Ohio wine enthusiasts have exciting opportunities to experience the state's vibrant wine culture through two seasonal events that combine wine tasting, tourism, and local attractions. These events offer visitors a chance to explore award-winning wineries, meet producers, and enjoy unique experiences across several communities.
The first event, "Fall into Spring," takes place along the Canal Country Trail in the Youngstown, Akron, and Canton regions from October 8 through November 9. Designed as a self-guided winery trail, the event allows guests to travel at their own pace while enjoying the beauty of Ohio's harvest season.
Visitors can experience what organizers describe as "the most interesting season in Wine Country." During harvest time, travelers can enjoy colorful landscapes, pleasant weather, and a variety of wines produced by participating wineries. At each stop, guests receive two samples of red, white, or rosé wines, a light snack, and a premium tulip bulb imported from Holland. The tulip bulbs provide a lasting reminder of the experience, blooming into vibrant red flowers during spring.
The trail includes sixteen participating wineries located throughout the region. Guests may choose to visit several wineries in a single trip or spread their visits over multiple outings. Ticket options include individual and couple packages, making the event suitable for friends, families, and wine enthusiasts seeking a relaxed countryside experience.
Participating locations include Bent Ladder Cider and Wine, Breitenbach Wine Cellars, Country Porch Winery, Dragon Fly Winery, Gervasi Vineyard, Lincoln Way Vineyards, Maize Valley Winery and Craft Brewery, Swiss Heritage Winery, and several others across Ohio.
Another featured event takes place at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Xenia through Vintage Market Days. This gathering combines wine tasting with an upscale shopping experience. Visitors can browse a wide variety of vintage and vintage-inspired items, including antiques, artwork, clothing, jewelry, home décor, outdoor furnishings, handcrafted products, and specialty foods.
Wine lovers can purchase a sampler booklet that includes eight wine tastings, a souvenir wine glass, and a six-bottle wine tote bag. Additional tasting samples are also available. Guests can enjoy wines while shopping and purchase bottles to take home.
A unique aspect of the event is the opportunity to meet winery owners and winemakers directly. Participating wineries include Brandeberry Winery, Old Mason Winery, Caesar Creek Vineyards, Dragonfly Vineyard and Winery, Olde Schoolehouse Vineyard and Winery, and Burnt Out Winery.
Together, these events highlight Ohio's growing wine industry while offering visitors memorable experiences that combine local agriculture, tourism, entertainment, and community engagement. They provide an excellent opportunity to explore regional wineries, discover new wines, and enjoy the charm of Ohio's countryside.
