Josh Snyder Named Ohio's 2024 CCA of the Year

Ohio's Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) Program proudly announces Josh Snyder as the recipient of the esteemed 2024 CCA of the Year award. Serving as a Precision Agronomy Solutions Advisor at Sunrise Cooperative's Crestline Agronomy Location, Snyder exemplifies dedication to advancing agricultural practices through precision agriculture.

Kevin Otte, chairman of the Ohio CCA board, commends Snyder's exemplary integration of technology with traditional agronomy, setting a high standard for agronomic advice and service. Snyder's expertise spans precision agriculture, fertility recommendations, soil sampling, data management, and variable rate seeding and nitrogen recommendations, all aimed at enhancing crop yields and farming efficiency.

A representative from Harer Bros. Farms, who nominated Snyder for the award, highlights his exceptional dedication to their farm and community. Snyder's seamless integration of agricultural technologies with the farm's needs has driven significant operational improvements. His proactive approach, particularly in scouting and custom recommendations, has made him indispensable to the farm.

The state award, sponsored by the Ohio CCA Program, recognizes individuals like Snyder for their outstanding service to farmer clients and their contributions to nutrient management, soil and water management, integrated pest management, and crop production. Snyder was honored at the 2024 Conservation Tillage & Technology Conference in Ada, Ohio, where he received a plaque and a $1500 cash award.

Recent recipients of the award include notable individuals such as Dr. Alex J. Lindsey from The Ohio State University and Tina Lust from Lust Seed Sales & Service. Snyder's recognition underscores his significant impact on Ohio's agricultural industry and his dedication to advancing precision agriculture practices.

The Ohio CCA Program, administered by the Ohio AgriBusiness Association, offers educational opportunities and certification for individuals advising growers on agronomic practices. CCAs like Snyder play a crucial role in providing recommendations aligned with industry best management practices, contributing to the sustainable growth of Ohio's agricultural sector.
