Nate Like Serves On 2025 Ohio Farm Bureau Policy Committee

By Andi Anderson

Nate Like of Hamler has been selected to serve on the 2025 Ohio Farm Bureau Federation Policy Development Committee, a group responsible for shaping key issues affecting Ohio agriculture.

The committee gathers recommendations from county Farm Bureaus, reviews them with expert input, and develops final policy proposals that delegates will vote on during the state annual meeting in December.

In its opening session, the committee heard from subject matter experts and Farm Bureau staff on several important topics, including property taxes, agricultural workforce needs, the Make America Healthy Again movement, ATV and UTV safety, and access to electricity.

These discussions are expected to guide the development of recommendations that reflect the concerns of farmers and rural communities across the state.

The policy committee is made up of 20 members, including 10 from the Ohio Farm Bureau’s board of trustees and 10 representatives from county Farm Bureaus.

This structure ensures that both statewide leadership and local voices are represented in the decision-making process.

Like currently serves on the Ohio Farm Bureau’s board of trustees, representing farmers from Defiance, Fulton, Henry, and Williams counties. His role on the policy committee underscores his commitment to advocating for the issues that matter most to Ohio farmers.

The Ohio Farm Bureau’s mission is to work together for Ohio farmers, advance agriculture, and strengthen communities across the state. Through the policy development process, members help ensure that Ohio agriculture has a strong voice in shaping policies that affect farming and rural life.
