The 171st Ohio State Fair is set to welcome visitors from July 29 to August 9, 2026, with a combination of exciting new attractions and long-standing traditions. This year’s event is especially significant as it marks the completion of a multiyear transformation project that has reshaped the Ohio Expo Center and State Fairgrounds.
Over the past several years, fairgoers have witnessed ongoing improvements across the fairgrounds as part of a long-term development plan. Construction projects, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades have gradually transformed the venue. With these efforts now complete, visitors will experience a refreshed fairground designed to enhance entertainment, education, and community engagement.
Executive Director Adam Heffron highlighted the significance of this milestone, saying, "For the last two years, the Fair has looked a little different, with some things displaced and construction fencing up. Now, we're just days away from seeing a beautifully transformed Ohio State Fair."
The 2026 fair will introduce several new attractions, including two newly constructed buildings, four renovated facilities, a modernized Dairy Building, a new amphitheater, a glacial misting park, and a custom-built carousel produced in Ohio. These additions are expected to provide fresh experiences while improving comfort and accessibility for visitors.
Despite the new developments, many of the fair’s most beloved traditions will remain at the heart of the event. Visitors can enjoy the famous Butter Cow display, Natural Resources Park, amusement rides, livestock competitions, food vendors, arts and crafts exhibits, petting zoos, pig races, and live entertainment. The fair will also continue to showcase the All-Ohio State Fair Band & Youth Choir, which remains a treasured part of the annual celebration.
Agriculture continues to play a central role in the fair, with one of the nation’s largest junior livestock shows attracting participants from across the state. Educational exhibits and demonstrations will provide visitors with opportunities to learn about farming, natural resources, food production, and rural life.
The event is designed to welcome people of all ages, offering activities that combine learning, entertainment, and community involvement. Families, students, farmers, and visitors from urban and rural areas alike can explore exhibits, attend performances, and enjoy a variety of recreational attractions.
