Will Minshall of Pickaway County has been named the 2025 Ohio Farm Bureau Outstanding Young Farmer, recognizing his dedication to agriculture and community leadership. The award was announced on Feb. 8 at the Young Agricultural Professionals (YAP) Winter Leadership Experience.
Honoring Young Agricultural Leaders
The Outstanding Young Farmer Award recognizes young farmers for their business growth, leadership, and Farm Bureau involvement. Contestants are judged on farm expansion, marketing skills, and contributions to their community.
Minshall, an 8th-generation grain farmer and 1st-generation cattle farmer, runs a family farming partnership. A University of Northwestern Ohio graduate in ag/diesel technology, he has been active in farm leadership and local events.
A Leader in Agriculture and Community
Since 2023, Minshall has served on the Pickaway County Farm Bureau Board of Trustees, leading the membership campaign committee. He is also a 4-H advisor and beef barn superintendent at the Ross County Fair.
Award and Recognition
As the 2025 award winner, Minshall receives:
- A $3,000 cash prize
- An expense-paid trip to the 2025 Ohio Farm Bureau Annual Meeting
- A trip to the 2026 American Farm Bureau Annual Convention in Anaheim, California, to compete nationally
The prize package is sponsored by Nationwide and Farm Credit Mid-America.
Supporting Young Farmers
The Ohio Farm Bureau Young Agricultural Professionals program supports members aged 18-35, offering leadership events and professional development opportunities. It organizes the Winter Leadership Experience, Washington D.C. Leadership Experience, and industry contests.
