Agri Law Summit 2026 Registration Opens for Agricultural Legal Professionals

By Andi Anderson

Registration is now open for the Agri Law Summit 2026, a professional conference focused on addressing the legal needs of agriculture.

The event is hosted by The Ohio State University Agricultural and Resource Law Program, in partnership with the Ohio State Bar Association’s Agricultural Law Committee.

The day-long conference will take place on May 21, 2026, at Retreat 21 Venue and Tap House, located near Marysville, Ohio.

Agriculture plays a significant role in Ohio’s history and economy, and agricultural businesses face legal challenges that are often complex and unique. The Agri Law Summit is designed to bring attorneys together to build practical skills and deepen understanding of agricultural law issues. The program includes discussions on new and pending legislation, key court cases, and emerging legal topics affecting agriculture.

The conference agenda addresses a wide range of subjects that are important to agricultural clients. These include updates from the Ohio Department of Agriculture, farm financial stress, tax and labor law considerations, estate planning for agricultural assets, and the role of the Farm Service Agency.

The program also explores new challenges related to data centers, carbon capture projects, and increasing competition for agricultural land.

The Summit features experienced speakers from state agencies, universities, law firms, and financial institutions. These professionals will share practical insights and real-world perspectives to help attorneys better serve agricultural producers and agribusinesses.

Supporting the development of future agricultural attorneys is also a priority of the event. Full scholarships are available for current and recently graduated law students through funding from the Paul L. Wright Endowment in Agricultural Law at Ohio State. This opportunity allows students to gain valuable learning experiences and professional connections.

The program has been submitted to the Ohio Supreme Court for approval of five‑point‑five hours of Continuing Legal Education credit. In addition to educational sessions, the Summit includes networking opportunities during breakfast, lunch, and a post‑conference social gathering at the Retreat 21 Tap House.

The Agri Law Summit 2026 provides a valuable setting for legal professionals to expand their knowledge, collaborate with peers, and stay informed about the legal issues shaping modern agriculture.
