County Farm Bureaus Promote Rural Safety

County Farm Bureaus Promote Rural Safety

Farm Bureaus across the country are working to make rural communities safer. They are providing resources to help farmers and ranchers protect themselves and their families from crime, as well as from natural disasters.

One of the ways that Farm Bureaus are working to improve rural safety is by providing training on crime prevention. They offer courses on topics such as home security, personal safety, and how to report suspicious activity. They also work to raise awareness of the importance of rural safety by distributing crime prevention materials and organizing community events.

In addition to crime prevention, Farm Bureaus are also working to improve rural safety by preparing for natural disasters. They provide information on how to develop emergency plans and how to stay safe during a disaster. They also work to advocate for government funding for disaster preparedness programs.

The work of Farm Bureaus in rural safety is essential. By providing resources and education, they are helping to make rural communities safer for everyone.

Here are some examples of how county Farm Bureaus are prioritizing rural safety:

In Ohio, the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation has created a Rural Safety Toolkit that provides resources on crime prevention, natural disaster preparedness, and other safety topics.

In Iowa, the Iowa Farm Bureau has developed a program called "Eyes on the Farm" that encourages farmers and ranchers to report suspicious activity to law enforcement.

In Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Farm Bureau has partnered with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to provide training on how to stay safe during a flood.

These are just a few examples of the many ways that county Farm Bureaus are working to make rural communities safer. By providing resources and education, they are helping to make rural America a safer place to live, work, and raise a family.
