The Hardin County Master Gardener Volunteer Annual Plant Sale will take place on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Friendship Gardens in Kenton, Ohio.
This event is a popular gathering for gardeners, families, and community members who enjoy learning about plants, supporting local gardening activities, and adding new varieties to their homes and gardens.
The sale will be held at 960 West Kohler Street, making it easily accessible to residents across the county.
The annual plant sale is an important tradition for the Hardin County Master Gardeners. It allows volunteers to share their knowledge, encourage community involvement, and promote the value of gardening in everyday life.
Plant sales often include a range of flowers, herbs, vegetables, and native species grown and cared for by dedicated volunteers. These plants are well-suited for home gardens, school projects, and community landscapes.
In addition to offering plants for purchase, the event provides an opportunity for visitors to ask questions, receive gardening tips, and learn more about local horticulture.
Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who work to support home gardeners through education and outreach. By hosting events like this plant sale, they help residents make informed decisions about plant care, soil health, pest management, and sustainable gardening.
Community plant sales also play a role in supporting local agricultural efforts. Gardening encourages healthy outdoor activity, provides access to fresh food, and strengthens connections between residents and their environment.
The Hardin County Master Gardeners aim to share these benefits with the community through hands‑on activities and educational support.
Anyone interested in attending or seeking additional details may contact the Ohio State University Extension Office in Hardin County at 419‑674‑2297.
The event welcomes gardeners of all ages and skill levels, making it a friendly and educational experience for the entire community.
