Livestock Financing Takes Center Stage

Livestock Financing Takes Center Stage

By Andi Anderson

Livestock producers and agricultural community members in Highland County will have an opportunity to gain valuable insights into farm financing and industry resources during an upcoming educational meeting scheduled for October 22, 2026.

The event marks the beginning of the Highland County Farm Bureau’s Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 educational series, which is aimed at helping producers strengthen their operations through practical learning opportunities.

The meeting will be held at United Producers, Inc. in Hillsboro and will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The program is being organized in partnership with United Producers, Inc. and Highland Feed & Supply, bringing together agricultural professionals and local industry leaders to share useful information with producers.

The evening will begin with a complimentary meal sponsored by Highland Feed & Supply. The gathering will provide a welcoming environment where farmers can connect with industry experts, learn about available resources, and discuss challenges and opportunities within the livestock sector.

A major focus of the meeting will be livestock financing. Mark Brackett, UPI Regional Loan Officer, will discuss financing options available to livestock operations. His presentation will help producers better understand funding opportunities that can support farm expansion, equipment purchases, operational improvements, and long-term business planning.

In addition to financing topics, Farm Bureau representatives and leadership members will provide information about available programs, services, and membership benefits. These resources are designed to assist agricultural producers in managing their businesses, staying informed about industry developments, and accessing tools that support farm success.

Educational events such as this play an important role in helping producers stay current with changing agricultural conditions and business practices. Access to financial knowledge, industry training, and professional networks can help farmers make informed decisions and improve the efficiency of their operations.

The Highland County Farm Bureau educational series aims to create ongoing learning opportunities throughout the fall and winter seasons. By bringing together producers and agricultural professionals, the program encourages knowledge sharing and supports the growth of the local farming community.

Farmers interested in livestock production, agricultural finance, and business development are encouraged to attend. The event offers a valuable chance to learn directly from industry experts while exploring resources that can contribute to long-term operational success.

Additional information about the meeting is available through Highland County Farm Bureau representatives. The event is expected to provide practical guidance and useful connections for livestock producers seeking to strengthen and grow their agricultural enterprises.
