Ohio State Fair Opens Entries for Fine Creative and Youth Arts

By Andi Anderson

The Ohio State Fair has officially opened entries for its wide range of arts competitions, offering artists, creators, and young participants an opportunity to showcase their talent at one of the state’s most recognized events. Thousands of competition classes are available across Fine Arts, Creative Arts, and Youth Arts for the 2026 fair.

Participants are encouraged to explore categories that match their skills and interests. The Creative Arts division includes arts, crafts, fashion, cooking, and baking. These competitions allow individuals to present handmade items, artistic designs, and culinary creations to a wider audience. Entries for Creative Arts, including Arts, Crafts and Fashion, as well as Cooking and Baking, must be submitted by June 21 at 1 p.m.

The Fine Arts competition focuses on visual art forms such as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and mixed media. Artists entering Fine Arts must complete their submissions by June 3 at 1 p.m. This division highlights artistic expression, technique, and originality, offering participants professional recognition and public display opportunities.

Youth Arts competitions are designed to encourage creativity among younger participants. These classes provide children and teens with a platform to develop confidence, artistic skills, and self-expression while competing alongside peers from across the state. Youth Arts entries are also due by June 21 at 1 p.m.

The Ohio State Fair arts competitions are open to a wide range of skill levels, from beginners to experienced artists. Participants benefit from awards, public recognition, and the pride of being part of a long-standing state tradition that celebrates creativity and innovation.

Organizers encourage early entry to allow time for reviewing class rules, judging criteria, and entry requirements. Detailed information for each competition category is available through official Ohio State Fair resources.

By offering diverse arts competitions, the Ohio State Fair continues to support creative learning, youth development, and artistic achievement across Ohio communities.
