The Richland County Farm Bureau played an active role in supporting the 2026 Richland County Fair through volunteer service, youth engagement activities, exhibitor recognition, and community partnerships. The organization’s efforts helped create a positive and rewarding experience for fair participants, visitors, and exhibitors throughout the event.
Farm Bureau volunteers began their support by assisting at the Fairhaven Cafeteria, where they served breakfast to fairgoers. Their contribution highlighted the importance of community involvement and teamwork in making the annual fair a success.
One of the featured activities during the fair was the Barnyard Olympics, hosted by the Richland County Farm Bureau. The event attracted participants of various ages and offered an entertaining opportunity for fair attendees to get involved. Individuals who participated received a $4 voucher that could be used at the 4-H Dairy Bar or the Plymouth FFA pop tent, encouraging support for youth-focused fair programs.
The organization also demonstrated its commitment to agricultural youth through its support of the Richland County Junior Fair. Working alongside a group of generous sponsors, the Farm Bureau helped provide a commemorative T-shirt to every Junior Fair exhibitor. This effort recognized the dedication and hard work of young participants who showcased their projects and livestock throughout the fair.
The T-shirt initiative was made possible through sponsorship from Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc., Centerra Co-op, Cooke Transport, Crawford Drainage Co., Farm Credit Mid-America, Grauer Farms, KM’s Feed Store, Lund & Smith Insurance Services, Mechanics Bank, Pioneer Seed – Todd Schroeder, R and R Niese Farms, Richland Area Chamber, Sunrise Cooperative, and Walnut Hill Feeds.
In addition to supporting exhibitors, the Richland County Farm Bureau sponsored the prestigious Showman of Showmen trophy and provided chairs for the Outstanding Market Livestock Exhibitor in each species category. Farm Bureau board members presented these awards and recognitions during the small and large animal sales, helping celebrate excellence in livestock exhibition and youth achievement.
The fair provided an opportunity for young agricultural enthusiasts to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and commitment to the industry. Through volunteerism, sponsorships, educational activities, and exhibitor recognition, the Richland County Farm Bureau reinforced its dedication to agricultural education and rural communities.
The organization also extended congratulations to all exhibitors who participated in this year’s fair, acknowledging their efforts and achievements. By supporting youth programs and community events, the Richland County Farm Bureau continues to encourage leadership, agricultural involvement, and future success within the farming community.
