U.S. Red Meat Products Showcased in Latin America

U.S. Red Meat Products Showcased in Latin America

U.S. meat exporters met with red meat buyers from Central and South America and the Caribbean in Cartagena, Colombia, to showcase a wide range of U.S. red meat products. The event was a great opportunity for buyers to meet with suppliers and learn about the value and versatility of underutilized pork, beef and lamb cuts.

Laura De Bedout from Vitamar, a family company in Colombia for 45 years, said that the show was very important to them because they were able to find new suppliers of beef and pork to complete their portfolio for foodservice.

Randy Spronk, a farmer from Edgerton, Minnesota, who serves as USMEF chair-elect, attended his third Latin American Product Showcase and said that it was "phenomenal" to see the growth that is happening in these countries. He added that it was great for those who fund USMEF to be able to see what those funds do and show the return on their investment.

The event was a success for both buyers and suppliers, and it is expected to help to boost U.S. red meat exports to Central and South America and the Caribbean.
