4-H Camp Counselor Applications Open for 2026 Summer Program

4-H Camp Counselor Applications Open for 2026 Summer Program

By Andi Anderson

The Greene County OSU Extension office is now accepting applications for youth interested in serving as 4-H Camp Counselors for the 2026 summer camp season.

This role offers young people a meaningful opportunity to develop leadership skills, support younger campers, and contribute to a positive and memorable camp experience. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, October 31, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.

4-H Camp Counselors play an important role in helping guide camp activities, ensuring camper safety, and encouraging participation. Counselors assist with leading group games, outdoor activities, educational sessions, and evening events.

They also help younger campers feel welcome, confident, and included. This leadership role allows teens to practice communication, teamwork, responsibility, problem-solving, and planning skills in a fun learning environment.

The camp counselor program is open to eligible youth who meet the age and participation requirements outlined in the official program description.

Applicants should be dependable, enjoy working with others, and be willing to learn and take on leadership responsibilities. A training schedule will be provided to accepted counselors, ensuring they are prepared to lead campers and work as part of the counselor team.

Serving as a 4-H Camp Counselor is also a valuable experience that can support personal growth and future goals. Participants often use the skills they gain in school, community service, college applications, and future careers.

Many counselors return year after year because of the friendships they build and the rewarding experience of helping others grow.

Those interested should review the full program description and requirements before applying. The application must be submitted by the deadline, as late applications cannot be accepted.

The application link and additional details are available through the Greene County OSU Extension office.

Youth who are excited about leadership, outdoor experiences, and teamwork are encouraged to apply and be part of the 2026 4-H Camp Counselor team. This opportunity allows young leaders to make a positive impact while gaining important life skills that last well beyond summer camp.
