Agronomy Veteran Sass Joins Meristem Team

Another leading agronomic professional has joined Meristem Crop Performance, Columbus, Ohio, one of the fastest-growing crop input suppliers in America. David Sass becomes a Meristem sales representative for the upper western Corn Belt. Sass has a passion for seeing farmers succeed and deep experience in helping them boost their profitability with the right products and practices.

"We're so happy to welcome Dave to our team," says Mitch Eviston, Meristem founder and CEO of his most recent new team member. "We've got a lot of opportunity in the Dakotas and the Red River Valley to reach more farmers who can win with Meristem products and Dave Sass can help us serve them."

Sass grew up on a small farm and worked in agronomy management for a crop input retail operation for 10 years after his education at Lake Area Technical College in Watertown, S.D. He then decided to start his own company, Sass Agronomy Service, when he had an opportunity with LG Seeds.

"I've learned a lot of boring stuff about seed, plant health and nutrition all along the way," he laughs, "but it turns out it's knowledge that really does help farmers grow good crops. I'm really stoked about being a part of the Meristem team, because they are really focused on helping growers." It was "as a seed treatment guy," says Sass, that he began to really get into studying biologicals.

"Meristem's biological products and their tilt toward being disruptive with innovative answers really fit well with me. Being a bit disruptive is right in my wheelhouse," he smiles. "I've always been an outspoken advocate for the farmer." Sass and his wife Brandi recently welcomed twin boys, Michael and Logan, into the world, where they join another two sons: Cameron and Asher. They live near Murdo, S.D.

"With this Meristem product portfolio, we get to be the people that are actually helping people, and it's very good for those farmers we serve and it also means better sleep for me every night, knowing that I've truly helped those farmers win."
