Allen County Boosts Youth Agriculture Education

By Andi Anderson

The Allen County Farm Bureau is currently accepting applications for its annual scholarship established in memory of Ed Ulrich, a respected supporter of agricultural education and community development.

This scholarship aims to encourage and assist young individuals who are pursuing careers or further education in agriculture. All applications must be submitted by March 31 at 11:59 p.m., giving students and young professionals a valuable opportunity to receive financial support for their academic or career‑training goals.

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the eligibility requirements related to Farm Bureau membership. Individuals must either be a current member of the Allen County Farm Bureau or be the child or dependent of a member.

This ensures that the scholarship benefits families who are actively connected to and supportive of local agricultural initiatives.

A wide range of applicants may qualify for the scholarship. Eligible individuals include high school seniors preparing to enter college, undergraduate students already enrolled in higher education, and students attending trade or career schools.

The scholarship welcomes applications from individuals under the age of 22 who are currently working in the agriculture industry. This broad eligibility reflects the Farm Bureau’s commitment to supporting all forms of agricultural education, whether academic or hands‑on.

The scholarship provides an opportunity for students to strengthen their future careers in fields such as farming, agronomy, agricultural engineering, animal sciences, agribusiness, and many other related paths. By helping reduce educational costs, the Allen County Farm Bureau honors the memory of Ed Ulrich while investing in the next generation of agricultural leaders.

Applicants are encouraged to complete their submissions early and ensure all required information is included before the deadline. The Farm Bureau hopes to support motivated students who demonstrate dedication to agriculture and a willingness to contribute to the industry’s continued growth.
