Countdown Begins for 2025 Ohio State Fair Exciting Attractions Await

By Andi Anderson

Opening day for the 170th Ohio State Fair is just one month away, set for Wednesday, July 23, and running through August 3, 2025. This year promises both fresh experiences and returning favorites for fairgoers of all ages.

New Additions for 2025 include The Barnyard, a shaded area featuring Pig Races and the Petting Zoo presented by Care Source. Visitors can cheer for fast-paced pig races or interact with over 50 animals, including goats, zebras, llamas, and kangaroos.

Another crowd-pleaser is Chainsaw Carving, where skilled artists transform blocks of wood into stunning sculptures right before your eyes using only a chainsaw. It's loud, exciting, and filled with creativity.

The Cincinnati Circus Aerial Entertainment at the Mountain Dew Midway offers breathtaking acrobatic performances that highlight daring human feats.

Guests entering the north gate will notice a brand-new entry structure, replacing the old gate near Historic Crew Stadium. It features permanent ticket booths and a covered area for smoother security checks.

In terms of music, fairgoers can enjoy free concerts included with admission at the WCOL Celeste Center. Shows include Let’s Sing Taylor (July 27, 7 p.m.) and 16 Candles (July 29, 1 p.m.).

Paid attractions offer extra thrills. Try the Beat the Bar Challenge in Kiddieland for $10, or test your aim at Dueling Axes near the Coliseum. Aspiring geologists can enjoy Matrix Mining or brave the Sling Shot Ride, which launches guests 200 feet in the air for $40.

From agriculture displays to adrenaline-pumping rides, the Ohio State Fair continues to be a top summer destination filled with tradition, fun, and innovation.
