The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) is reintroducing a program dedicated to expanding markets for Ohio's agricultural products and producers. With a renewed focus on agricultural trade and export, ODA aims to strengthen Ohio's competitive edge globally.
ODA Director Brian Baldridge expressed excitement about the program's return, emphasizing its potential to drive economic growth and support Ohio's food and agriculture industry. The program will collaborate with state agencies and commodity groups to assist producers and foster partnerships.
Under ODA's Division of Markets, the program will be led by Agriculture Export Administrator Tim Sword, who brings extensive experience in trade and export.
Sword is eager to lead ODA's international initiatives and collaborate with industry leaders to expand Ohio's food and agricultural exports
The Agricultural Trade and Export Program, formerly housed within ODA, was transferred to the Ohio Department of Development in 2011.
ODA's Markets Division, home to programs like Ohio Proud and the Ohio Grape Industries Committee, supports Ohio's food and agricultural sectors to enhance their competitiveness.
