A field day will be held on August 30th to discuss the benefits and barriers of integrating livestock and row crop production. The event will be held from 5pm to 8pm at 12892 Western Road, Apple Creek, Ohio.
The field day is hosted by an Ohio State research project that has been studying the economic and environmental tradeoffs of different approaches to integrating livestock and row crop production. The research team has collected on-farm samples and interview data from 31 Ohio farms.
The field day will feature a panel of local farmers who will discuss their experiences with crop and livestock integration. There will also be a presentation on the results of the research project, as well as a catered meal.
There is no cost to attend the field day, but registration is requested for meal planning. To register call 330-263-3634.
The field day is a great opportunity to learn more about the benefits and challenges of integrating livestock and row crop production. It is also a chance to network with other farmers who are interested in this approach.
