Wine lovers and garden enthusiasts can experience a fresh autumn adventure this year along the Canal Country Wine Trail. This new event, running from October 12 through November 8, 2025, brings together 21 favorite regional wineries in a celebration of both fine wines and blooming gardens.
At each participating winery, guests can sample two wines, enjoy a light bite, and receive a Breck’s daffodil bulb imported directly from Holland.
The bulbs, presented in organza bags, are ready for fall planting to bring vibrant spring blooms. Alongside tastings, visitors can gather planting tips and garden inspiration from Breck’s to take home.
The event is designed for leisurely exploration, allowing participants to visit wineries at their own pace during regular business hours.
Tickets are $55 for singles, which includes one bulb at each stop, two wine samples, and one light bite. Couples tickets are $75 and provide each person with two wine samples and a light bite, while sharing the bulb collection.
Participating wineries include Maize Valley in Hartville, Greene Eagle in Cortland, Salvage in Mantua, Gervasi in Canton, Country Porch in Cortland, Lost Trail in Canton, Swiss Heritage in Dover, Lincoln Way in Wooster, Cherry Road in Massillon, Breitenbach in Dover, Mastropietro in Berlin Center, Ugly Bunny in Loudonville, Schoolhouse in Dover, Dragonfly Winery in Canal Fulton, Bent Ladder in Doylestown, and Sunny Slope in Big Prairie.
The Ohio Wine Producers Association is encouraging guests to purchase tickets early, as the event is expected to sell out, with bulbs arriving directly from Holland. More details and tickets are available at www.Ohiowines.org or by calling 440-466-4417.
Attendees are also invited to submit creative name suggestions for this new trail by emailing dwinchell@ohiowines.org by August 15. The winning entry will receive a couple’s ticket valued at $75.
This event offers a unique pairing of seasonal flavors and garden beauty, making it an ideal fall outing for wine and nature lovers alike.
