Free USDA Webinar Helps New Farmers

Free USDA Webinar Helps New Farmers

By Jamie Martin

The USDA invites farmers and ranchers to a free virtual webinar on April 22, 2025, from 12 PM to 1:30 PM EDT. The session aims to educate beginning farmers about the wide variety of federal resources available to support their growth and stability in agriculture.

Topics will include farm loans, disaster assistance, risk management tools, and conservation programs. The webinar is especially useful for those just starting out, as many of these resources include special funding opportunities, waivers, and simplified processes for new farmers.

These efforts reflect USDA’s commitment to removing barriers for aspiring producers and helping them thrive in today’s agricultural economy. Participants will gain insight into how these services work and how to apply.

The event is free, but pre-registration is necessary. All attendees who register will receive a link to the webinar recording, allowing for convenient future access.

If you need any accommodation to participate, please reach out to Lynnette Wright at (315) 477-6309 or email lynnette.wright@usda.gov no later than two days before the session. To register, contact Chris Deets at (315) 427-9779 or email christopher.deets@usda.gov.

To get a head start, visit www.farmers.gov/beginning-farmers for more details on USDA services for new farmers.
