Growing Tomorrow Grants Open for Young Ag Entrepreneurs

Growing Tomorrow Grants Open for Young Ag Entrepreneurs

By Andi Anderson

Young agricultural professionals and entrepreneurs in Ohio are invited to apply for the Growing Tomorrow Grant, a funding program designed to support early-stage ag businesses and community-focused initiatives. Applications open May 1, with up to $100,000 in total funding available in 2025.

Launched by Ohio Farm Bureau members Mike and Patti Boyert, the grant program was created to give today’s young farmers the opportunities they never had when starting out.

Backed by support from Nationwide and Farm Credit Mid-America, the initiative encourages innovation, environmental stewardship, and public understanding of agriculture.

The Growing Tomorrow Grant targets four key areas:

  • Creating sustainable jobs in Ohio’s rural communities
  • Promoting agricultural education and new farming methods
  • Supporting environmental practices in agriculture
  • Improving local food access through sustainable growing and distribution

Ideal applicants are young ag entrepreneurs with solid business plans and a vision to positively impact Ohio agriculture. Whether starting a new venture or scaling an existing business, applicants should align with one or more of the grant’s core goals.

To help applicants understand the process, a virtual information session will be held on May 7 at 7 p.m. Participants will hear directly from the Boyerts and Ohio Farm Bureau staff about the application requirements, goals, and tips for success.

The application deadline is July 31. Those interested can find full details and apply at ofb.ag/GrowingTomorrowGrant.

This grant offers a valuable opportunity for the next generation of ag leaders to bring fresh ideas to the field and strengthen Ohio’s farming future.
