The Ohio Farm Bureau recently awarded its prestigious Innovation Awards to several county Farm Bureaus for their impactful and creative programs. These programs demonstrate the diverse ways that Farm Bureaus are serving their communities and advancing the agricultural industry.
One of the winners, Ashtabula County Farm Bureau, developed the "Mental Health Dinner Theater," a unique program that uses a three-act play to address farmer stress and encourage discussion about mental health. This program provides a valuable resource for farmers and their families, highlighting the importance of mental well-being.
Another award-winning program, "Planting the Seed for the Future of Agriculture" by Crawford County Farm Bureau and Crawford County Cattlemen, focuses on ag literacy and advocacy. This engaging event featured a nationally known author and social media influencer, educating attendees about agriculture and inspiring them to become advocates themselves.
The Jackson-Vinton County Farm Bureau took a creative approach to the mandatory Quality Assurance meeting for Junior Fair participants. Their program, "Making Quality Assurance...Fun!", replaced traditional lectures with hands-on activities led by county board members. This engaging format not only fulfilled the training requirements but also generated new Farm Bureau memberships.
These are just a few examples of the innovative programs being implemented by county Farm Bureaus across Ohio. These programs demonstrate the dedication and commitment of Farm Bureau members to strengthening their communities and promoting the agricultural industry.
