Madison County Farm Bureau Considers 2025 Code Amendments

Madison County Farm Bureau Considers 2025 Code Amendments

By Andi Anderson

Ahead of the August 8, 2025 Annual Meeting, Madison County Farm Bureau members are encouraged to review proposed amendments to the organization’s Code of Regulations. The primary update centers on membership fees under Article III – Membership, Section 3.

The proposed change would eliminate the current fixed membership fee structure and replace it with a streamlined reference to statewide dues established by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation.

What’s being removed:

The current code outlines specific dollar amounts:

  • $120 annually for general members
  • $40 annually for members aged 18–24

Language regarding the Corporation’s responsibility to pay fees to the Federation is also being updated.

What’s being added:

  • A simplified provision stating that “each member shall pay annually the applicable statewide membership dues established by the Federation.”
  • Confirmation that the Corporation remains responsible for paying dues owed to the Federation.

These changes are designed to ensure local policies align with the broader regulations of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and to allow for greater flexibility as statewide dues adjust over time.

Members will have the opportunity to review and vote on these proposed updates during the annual meeting. Printed copies will also be provided at the event.

All members are encouraged to attend and participate in the meeting to help guide the future direction of the Madison County Farm Bureau.
