Ohio Farm Bureau is hosting an insightful webinar on March 5 at 9 a.m., welcoming all interested individuals to delve into recent changes in Current Agricultural Use Value (CAUV) and the implications for property taxes.
CAUV values have surged dramatically after the 2023 reappraisal, impacting 41 counties with new tax bills. Some counties report increases between 80% to 100%. The webinar aims to unravel the reasons behind this surge and provide clarity on how property taxes respond.
Leah Curtis, Ohio Farm Bureau Policy Counsel, will lead the discussion, shedding light on the influences behind CAUV increases. She emphasizes the role of a robust economy, particularly sustained high crop prices from 2017 to 2023.
Curtis and her team are actively addressing concerns through various channels, including meetings with the tax department and participation in the newly formed joint committee on property taxes. The webinar extends an opportunity for participants to understand these efforts and engage in the advocacy process.
Register now for the Statewide CAUV Update Webinar to stay informed about recent changes and what lies ahead for the CAUV program.
