Ohio State’s Leadership Center is now accepting applications for AgOne, a year-long leadership program designed for individuals in the agricultural industry who are eager to take the next steps in their leadership journey.
The program offers a unique opportunity for agricultural professionals to sharpen their leadership skills, build new networks, and create a roadmap for personal growth.
Applications and nomination letters are due by Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:59 pm. Dr. Shannon Washburn, professor and chair of the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership, emphasized that the program is ideal for those who want to make a meaningful impact on Ohio’s agricultural industry. “This program allows participants to galvanize the individual influence they can have on their industry through leadership training,” Washburn said.
Throughout the year, AgOne cohort members will engage in a variety of activities designed to foster personal and professional development.
These activities include skill and behavior assessments, one-on-one coaching sessions to create a customized leadership roadmap, virtual and in-person workshops, group discussions on leadership case studies, and the opportunity to examine materials from renowned leadership experts.
Jenny Cox, program director of AgOne, explained that the program is tailored to meet each leader where they are in their leadership journey. Participants will focus on developing key leadership skills, such as effective listening, conflict management, influencing others, and utilizing their strengths to lead.
AgOne is a collaborative effort between Ohio State’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership, and the OSU Leadership Center.
