The Ohio State Fair opens its gates on July 23, promising fun, entertainment, and plenty of agriculture-themed activities for all visitors. The fair runs through August 3, offering a packed schedule of events and attractions in Columbus, Ohio.
One highlight is The Barnyard, featuring pig races and a petting zoo at its new location. Visitors can also enjoy creative arts exhibits, cooking competitions, and youth art displays at Kasich Hall. Demonstrations like ice cream making and deviled egg contests bring fun learning experiences.
New this year, the Chainsaw Carver and Cincinnati Circus Company performances will showcase incredible skills and daring acts. Stages around the fairgrounds will host musicians, hypnotists, lumberjack shows, and variety acts, providing non-stop entertainment.
The Taste of Ohio Stage offers acoustic performances each afternoon and a live DJ every evening in the Beer Garden. The Fine Arts Exhibition will display some of Ohio’s best artwork.
Families won’t want to miss the Lausche Youth Exploration Space, full of interactive exhibits by Ohio youth groups and organizations like Ohio 4-H, COSI, and the Girl Scouts. Little ones can enjoy the Little Farmers exhibit, with hands-on farm learning and pedal tractors.
Livestock shows, barn tours led by Ohio State University students, and baby animals at the OVMA Animal Care Center will connect visitors with Ohio’s rich farming heritage.
The Natural Resources Park features fishing, kayaking, a butterfly house, archery, and even Smokey Bear. History buffs can explore the Ohio State Fair History Exhibit, with models showing how the fair has evolved over the decades.
Advance-sale tickets are $8 for single-day admission and are available through July 22. Parking is $10, and a free park-and-ride shuttle runs daily. Full details and event schedules can be found on the Ohio State Fair website.
