Ohio’s 2025 leadership event for agriculture pros

By Andi Anderson

The Ohio Farm Bureau has opened registration for its 2025 Winter Leadership Experience, a conference designed to empower agricultural professionals with personal and professional skills, networking opportunities, and knowledge to impact their community and the agriculture sector. Set for February 7-8, the event will take place at Kalahari in Sandusky, Ohio.

This year, the conference theme is “Embracing Your Season,” and, for the first time, Ohio Farm Bureau members of all ages, not only Young Agricultural Professionals (YAP), are welcome to attend.

The event will offer diverse sessions covering traditional and niche farming, advocacy, and consumer education, providing a well-rounded educational experience for attendees.

Mary Klopfenstein, YAP and Ag Literacy program specialist, shared that this expanded access aims to bring the benefits of this conference to all Ohio farmers, especially those involved in growth and transition planning for their operations.

The conference agenda includes extended learning sessions on grain marketing, starting a home food business, and ATV/UTV safety. There will also be a pesticide and fertilizer applicator recertification course, as well as a Networking and Partnership Showcase.

In addition, a family-friendly entertainment night and kids' programming will be available during the breakout sessions, allowing the whole family to participate.

The registration deadline is January 21, 2025, with event details available on the Ohio Farm Bureau’s website at ofb.ag/2025WLE. By attending this event, Ohio farmers and agriculturalists have the chance to advance their skills and connect with peers, supporting the Ohio Farm Bureau’s mission to work collectively to advance agriculture and strengthen communities across Ohio.
