Beef Producers Invited to Major Tennessee Expo

Beef Producers Invited to Major Tennessee Expo

By Jamie Martin

Cattle producers looking to strengthen their operations and stay current with industry developments will have an opportunity to do so at the 2026 Northeast Tennessee Beef Expo and UT Master Beef Producer Program.

The event will bring together beef producers, Extension professionals, researchers, and agricultural businesses for two days focused on education and professional development. The program is designed to provide practical knowledge that producers can apply directly to their cattle operations.

The Northeast Tennessee Beef Expo will be held on October 15 in Greeneville, Tennessee. The event will feature expert-led educational sessions, interactive demonstrations, networking opportunities, and exhibits from agricultural industry partners.

Throughout the day, attendees will gain insights into current trends and best management practices affecting the beef sector. Topics will focus on improving cattle performance, enhancing herd management, and addressing production challenges facing modern livestock farms.

Trade show exhibits will allow producers to explore new products, technologies, and services available to support beef cattle operations. These exhibits provide direct access to industry representatives who can answer questions and discuss solutions tailored to producers' needs.

A key benefit of the event is the opportunity for farmers and ranchers to connect with one another. Networking remains an important component of agricultural success because it encourages the exchange of ideas, experiences, and proven management strategies.

For those interested in a more intensive educational experience, the UT Master Beef Producer Program will continue until October 16. The program is designed to help producers expand their understanding of beef cattle production through in-depth instruction and training.

Participants enrolled in the Master Beef Producer Program will gain access to both days of educational programming. The curriculum supports producers who are focused on improving farm efficiency, animal care, and overall business performance.

“We hope producers will take advantage of the opportunity to spend a day — or both days —learning, networking and connecting with fellow beef producers from across Northeast Tennessee,” said Sarah Orr, UT-TSU Extension Cocke County director and agriculture and natural resources agent.

Advanced training also includes opportunities to earn Beef Quality Assurance certification. This certification promotes responsible cattle care practices and demonstrates a commitment to maintaining high standards within the beef industry.

Additionally, attendees can receive private and commercial pesticide applicator points, creating added value for producers who manage pastures, forage systems, and crop production activities associated with their cattle operations.

Organizers believe the event offers benefits to producers at every experience level. Whether a producer is new to the industry or managing a long-established cattle herd, the program provides practical information and industry perspectives that can help improve decision-making.

Events like the Northeast Tennessee Beef Expo highlight the importance of continuing education in agriculture. As production methods evolve and market conditions change, access to current information becomes increasingly important for long-term success.

The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture supports these efforts through its commitment to research, teaching, and Extension outreach. By connecting farmers with educational resources and industry expertise, the institution helps strengthen rural communities and agricultural businesses.

The 2026 Northeast Tennessee Beef Expo and Master Beef Producer Program are expected to provide valuable learning opportunities, professional development, and industry connections for beef producers preparing for future challenges and opportunities in the cattle sector.
