Brown Announces More Than $3.3 Million to Support Farming in Central Ohio

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) awarded a $3,339,000 grant to Earth Peak Organics in Dublin through the Fertilizer Production Expansion Program.

“Small family farms and rural communities face unique challenges,” said Brown. “This investment will help to bolster economic growth, reduce dependence on foreign sources, support Earth Peak Organics and allow them to repurpose food waste into fertilizers.”

This investment will allow Earth Peak Organics to expand its current unique applications of aerobic food waste digestion technology to perfect localized, farmer-focused, closed loop systems to convert food waste to a natural fertilizer product.

The USDA’s Fertilizer Production Expansion Program is part of a government-wide effort to promote competition in agricultural markets.
