Eight Young Agricultural Professionals (YAP) groups have been awarded $500 grants to support educational programs and events in 2025.
The grants, funded by Farm Credit Mid-America, are part of a $100,000 donation to Farm Bureau young leader programs across six states, including Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.
The selected YAP events aim to enhance leadership skills, promote networking, and encourage professional growth. Events like the Axe Throwing Showdown and Bowl & Grow Social provide young farmers with opportunities to connect and learn about Farm Bureau initiatives.
Earth Day | Ag Day, hosted at Wilmington College, raises awareness about agriculture’s role in environmental sustainability, while the Emerging Agriculture Conference introduces students to career paths in the industry.
Finding Success in Your Succession Plan focuses on keeping family farms within families by providing expert guidance on estate and legacy planning. Growing into the Future, hosted by multiple county Farm Bureaus, offers workshops on leadership, finance, and agricultural opportunities.
Other funded events, such as Night Out with the Captains, provide a relaxed environment for networking, while Pints ‘n Plants educates attendees on gardening while fostering collaboration.
The Ohio Farm Bureau Young Agricultural Professionals program provides leadership training, networking opportunities, and competitions such as the Outstanding Young Farmer and Excellence in Agriculture contests.
Participants can also join leadership experiences in Washington, D.C., and statewide events.
These grants will help young professionals build stronger agricultural communities while developing valuable skills for the future.
