Join the Ohio Dairy Producers Association (ODPA) Feb. 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for our annual meeting to learn about proposed changes to the federal milk marketing order, ODPA's efforts and more. Registration begins at 9:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow. Complimentary donuts, milk and coffee will be served.
Attendance is free and open to all dairy farmers.
The meeting takes place at the Shisler Conference Center, 1680 Madison Ave., Wooster.
A review of the proposal to modernize the federal milk marketing order will be discussed. National Milk Producers Federation consultant Jim Sleper and American Farm Bureau Federation chief economist Roger Cryan will present the proposal and answer questions. Dairy economist Mike McCully will share his perspective on the US milk pricing system and offer insights into how the current system may be due for a complete overhaul in the coming years to compete internationally
There will also be Ohio State University dairy update before lunch. Afterwards an ODPA management report will be given by CEO Scott Higgins and updates on state and federal legislation, and an update of Environmental Stewardship will provide an overview of the dairy industry’s goals, innovation in manure management and consumer confidence efforts,
