FABE Post-Doctoral Scholar Takes Third Place in CFAES Research Forum Poster Competition

FABE Post-Doctoral Scholar Takes Third Place in CFAES Research Forum Poster Competition

A post-doctoral scholar from Ohio State University's Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE) placed third in the 2023 College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) Research Forum Poster Competition. The scholar, whose research focuses on sustainable agriculture, presented a poster on "Incorporating Climate Change into Agricultural Land Use Decisions."

The poster presented innovative research on using a land use optimization model to determine the best combination of crops and land use practices that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, maintain soil health, and maximize crop yields. The model can help farmers and policymakers make informed decisions about land use management practices in the face of climate change.

The CFAES Research Forum provides an opportunity for scholars to share their research with peers, faculty, and industry professionals. The competition recognizes outstanding research posters based on scientific merit, visual appeal, and ability to effectively communicate research findings.

Ohio State University's FABE department has a strong focus on sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship. The department's research and educational programs aim to advance innovative solutions to complex agricultural and environmental challenges, and the success of this post-doctoral scholar in the CFAES Research Forum Poster Competition highlights the impact of their work.
