Jed Adams, a student at The Ohio State University, has been named the winner of the Ohio Farm Bureau’s 2025 Collegiate Discussion Meet. The results were announced on February 8 during the YAP Winter Leadership Experience.
The Collegiate Discussion Meet challenges young agricultural professionals to analyze and discuss key issues in the industry. It tests their knowledge, communication skills, and ability to develop solutions for modern agricultural challenges.
Adams grew up on a dairy farm in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, and gained hands-on experience raising dairy cattle. He also worked with his sister and brother-in-law on their sheep farm. Now studying agribusiness and applied economics at Ohio State, he aspires to work in agriculture, focusing on lending or policy.
As the competition winner, Adams received a $1,000 scholarship and free registration to the 2025 FUSION Conference in Denver, where he will compete at the national level.
Three other students—Ruth Beery, Katelynn Larrimore, and Mary Rose from Wilmington College—were also finalists in the competition.
The Ohio Farm Bureau’s Collegiate Farm Bureau program connects students with industry professionals, promotes agriculture careers, and helps develop future industry leaders. It provides opportunities for leadership, career growth, and hands-on learning.
