Local Safety Training Enhances Agricultural Workers’ Well-Being


Adams, Brown, Clermont, and Highland County Farm Bureau organized an in-person safety training session Feb. 16 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Ag Administration Building, Brown County Fairgrounds, Georgetown, to meet the Workers’ Compensation group rating program safety training requirements outlined by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation.

The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation sets forth guidelines designed to enhance workplace safety for Workers’ Compensation Group Rating Program participants. The comprehensive training Feb. 16 covered general agricultural safety, employee health, and mental health well-being, with speakers including Trevor Corboy from OSU Extension, Deanna Vietze from Brown Co. Board of Mental Health & Addiction Services, and Pam Williams from Brown County Health Dept.

Local businesses Atomic Credit Union, First State Bank, Brown County Health Department, and Adams County Regional Medical Center, showcased their services, emphasizing collaboration between the agricultural community and local businesses.
