New facility enhances Agri education

New facility enhances Agri education

By Andi Anderson

With the rapid advancements in agricultural technology, modern farmers have access to precision and control that would have been unimaginable just a generation ago.

As technology evolves, the need for ongoing education becomes increasingly important. Precision Agri Services, Inc. (PASI), founded 30 years ago, has long been committed to educating farmers on these advancements.

“We started in 1994 basically doing agricultural consulting for farmers,” said Bill Lehmkuhl, PASI president and CEO. “The late 1980s and early 1990s marked the advent of precision agriculture. That's when technology like satellite and GPS began to evolve. One of the first technologies was the yield monitor on combines, which allowed farmers to start analyzing data. Initially, most farmers focused on identifying the best yielding hybrids for specific fields. Over time, this has evolved into using data for various applications, including soil fertility and field trials. Planter technology has also advanced significantly since its early days in 1996.”

To further support these educational efforts, PASI has opened an impressive new facility in Minster, Ohio, which is set to expand their ability to train and support farmers.

“We are a dealer for Precision Planting, serving as their boots on the ground to help farmers solve field-related problems,” said Justin Goubeaux, VP of sales and COO of PASI. “This new facility has opened up opportunities we hadn’t initially considered. For example, we've already hosted a regional sprayer training event through Precision Planting, which allowed dealers from across the country to come to Ohio instead of traveling to Illinois. This has been beneficial not only for other dealers but also for us internally, as it allows us to do more in a day without the need for extensive travel.”

In addition to these expanded training opportunities for PASI staff, the new facility also offers enhanced training for farmer customers.

“We’ve added a 36-person conference room on the second floor, essentially creating a small training center,” Goubeaux explained. “This space allows us to hold in-house meetings with growers anytime, providing them with the training and answers they need to improve their operations. In the past, we didn’t have a suitable place for such events, but now, this facility enables us to continue building on the educational foundation our business was built on.”

The new PASI facility in Minster is setting the stage for expanded educational opportunities, helping farmers stay ahead with the latest precision agriculture technologies.
