Support Pickaway County Agriculture Youth

By Andi Anderson

The Pickaway County Buyers Club is extending an invitation to the community to contribute to its mission of empowering the youth involved in agriculture. With the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, the club is urging individuals and businesses to donate cash, checks, or credit card payments before May 3rd.

The primary objective of the Buyers Club is to utilize all donations to procure junior fair livestock projects. By doing so, the club ensures fair market prices for each exhibitor, regardless of their presence at the livestock sale. Last year, the club raised an impressive $30,000 through generous contributions, enabling the purchase of a total of 60 livestock projects. Remarkably, they successfully bid on 95% of the animals that went through the sale ring, significantly impacting the lives of the county's youth.

This year, the Buyers Club aims to surpass its previous achievements with the support of the community. Every donation received not only acknowledges the hard work of junior fair exhibitors but also serves as encouragement for them to undertake larger and more ambitious projects in the future.

Contributions can be made by donating cash, check, or credit card to the Pickaway County Farm Bureau, with "buyers club" indicated in the memo line. Donations ranging from $1 to $249 will have the donor's name or business featured on the Buyer’s Club banner in Heritage Hall. For donations of $250 or more, the donor's business logo will be displayed. To ensure inclusion on the banner, donations must be made by May 3, 2024.

The Pickaway County Buyers Club emphasizes that every dollar contributed makes a significant difference in the journey of young agriculturists. By supporting this initiative, individuals and businesses alike can play a vital role in shaping the future of agriculture in the county.
