Flu Season is Here
By: Sherrod Brown, U.S. Senator - 12/03/2019

Flu season is upon us -- I've gotten my flu shot, have you?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), everyone over the age of six months should get an annual flu vaccine.

There are other precautionary measures that you can take to help prevent the spread of disease during flu season, like washing hands, covering coughs, and disinfecting contaminated surfaces to prevent spreading the flu. Getting vaccinated and taking extra measures to reduce the spread of germs isn't just about protecting yourself -- also about keeping those around you healthy, too. The flu can be especially dangerous for young children, seniors, and Americans who are immunocompromised. Taking steps to protect yourself helps to protect your loved ones, too.

With the spike in flu deaths and hospitalizations, it is important to alert families of important resources to help everyone stay healthy during the flu season. Ask your friends and family: I've gotten my flu shot, have you?
