Brent Nemeth Appointed Ohio Farm Bureau Organization Director

By Andi Anderson

Brent Nemeth of Rayland, Ohio, has been named the new organization director for the Ohio Farm Bureau. In this role, he will work closely with members and county Farm Bureaus in Carroll, Harrison, Jefferson, and Tuscarawas counties to support agricultural development and address community needs.

A lifelong resident of Jefferson County, Nemeth brings a strong background in both agriculture and leadership. Since 2000, he has operated a 75-head seed-stock cow-calf farm and was recognized as Jefferson County’s Conservation Farmer of the Year.

His deep roots in farming give him a clear understanding of local agricultural challenges and opportunities.

Before joining the Farm Bureau, Nemeth built a diverse career. He began as a data analyst for Consol Coal and later worked at Michael Baker Jr., Inc. in Pittsburgh. There, he contributed to environmental and water resource engineering projects, including the design of water and wastewater treatment systems.

Nemeth has also held local leadership roles, including village administrator for Rayland. He served as general counsel for his family’s concrete and river unloading businesses in Jefferson and Belmont counties.

From 2010 to 2020, he was an adjunct professor at West Liberty University, where he taught courses on environmental issues, business, and leadership philosophy.

His academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, where he graduated magna cum laude, and a law degree from West Virginia University College of Law.

Nemeth’s wide-ranging experience in engineering, law, education, and farming uniquely equips him to guide and support local Farm Bureau members.

As organization director, he is expected to build strong connections with the farming community, promote agricultural education, and help address key rural issues.

With Nemeth’s appointment, the Ohio Farm Bureau continues its commitment to strong leadership and community engagement in Ohio’s rural counties.
