The Don Andrews Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the life and service of Don Andrews, a longtime leader and advocate within the Clermont County Farm Bureau. The scholarship reflected his deep commitment to agriculture, education, and mentorship, and continued his legacy of supporting future leaders in the agricultural community.
Don Andrews was remembered as an active and dedicated member of the Clermont County Farm Bureau. During his years of service, he held several leadership roles, including president and policy chair.
More importantly, he was recognized as a mentor who encouraged others and believed strongly in the mission of the organization. His passion and dedication left a lasting impact on the local agricultural community.
To honor his contributions, the Andrews family established the Don Andrews Memorial Scholarship Fund. Through this fund, one one thousand dollar scholarship was made available to a graduating high school senior from Clermont County, Ohio, in 2026.
The scholarship supported students planning to attend an institution of higher education and major in an agricultural field.
Applicants were not required to have a farm background. Eligibility depended on the student’s parents or guardians being members of the Clermont County Farm Bureau. Preference was given to students pursuing majors in agriculture, animal sciences, horticulture, science, chemistry, or education with a focus on these areas.
Scholarship applications were evaluated based on several criteria. These included academic achievement, participation in school and community activities, and demonstrated leadership skills.
The goal was to recognize students who showed strong potential to contribute positively to agriculture and their communities.
Applications were made available online and through guidance counselor offices at local high schools. To be considered, students were required to submit a completed application, a copy of their high school transcript, and a wallet size photograph. All materials were sent to the Clermont County Farm Bureau office in Georgetown, Ohio.
Completed applications had to be received by 4 p.m. on April 30, 2026. Questions regarding the scholarship were directed to the Clermont County Farm Bureau office, which maintained regular weekday office hours.
The scholarship program served as a meaningful way to invest in education while preserving Don Andrews lasting legacy in agriculture.
