Experts Gather for 2025 Ohio Agricultural Outlook Conference

By Andi Anderson

Ohio State University will host the 2025 Agricultural Outlook and Policy Conference on November 18 at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center in Columbus.

The annual event, organized by the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics (AEDE), brings together researchers, producers, and agribusiness professionals to discuss trends shaping the future of agriculture.

This year’s conference will feature expert presentations on key issues including energy, food systems, the labor market, renewable fuels, livestock, trade policy, and grain markets.

Each speaker will provide an economic forecast and respond to questions from attendees, creating an engaging environment for learning and collaboration.

The speaker lineup includes AEDE faculty members Brent Sohngen, Margaret Jodlowski, Jared Grant, Chen-Ti Chen, Gabe Lade, Ian Sheldon, and Seungki Lee.

Barry Ward, Leader in OSU Extension, will discuss farm margins, while Ben Ayers, Senior Economist with Nationwide, will present a macroeconomic outlook. Amy Ando, AEDE Department Chair, will serve as moderator.

Supported by the Ohio Farm Bureau and Three Rivers Energy, the conference continues its tradition as a leading forum for agricultural and food policy discussion in Ohio.

It serves as an important platform for farmers, agribusiness leaders, policymakers, and researchers to exchange information and strengthen connections within the state’s land-grant network.

Admission to the 2025 Agricultural Outlook and Policy Conference is free, and participants are encouraged to register early. More information, including the event agenda and speaker details, can be found at aede.osu.edu/outlook-conference.
